What Happened to Batman: The Movie?

No matter how many different iterations of Batman there have been over the years, some folks still see colorful words explode across their memory of the caped crusader: BANG! POW! CRASH! For as dark as the adventures of Batman have progressively become, there’s no forgetting the brief era when the universe of “Batman” was a cartoonish, campy riot, filled with tongue-in-cheek dialogue, scenery-chewing performances, and some very snug costumes.
