►🚨🇺🇸🇷🇺⚡️ Russian Fleets in America 1863: Protection Against Britain and France!
🔴 This is a condensed version of the lecture given by American historian Webster Tarpley in Washington, DC, in 2013, on the 150th anniversary of the arrival of Russian navy squadrons to New York City and San Francisco to assist the Union against the Confederacy in the fall of 1863.
◾️Webster Tarpley discusses the contribution of Russian Tsar Alexander II to a northern victory in the US Civil War. Sadly, this great chapter of Russian-American relationship has been nearly forgotten in the US, even though it played a very important role in the very existence of the United States of America as we know it.
◾️Watch this on a screen larger than a smartphone if you can! There are a lot of added graphics.
◾️The entire talk is about an hour and a half long. It contains a lot more information about the Russian-American relationship than was cut to put this video together. It is filmed as a single-camera shot, so it won’t have any graphics in it, but it is well-worth the time!
◾️It is available for viewing on C-SPAN https://www.c-span.org/video/?315198-1/russias-participation-us-civil-war as well as on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLB1umCHaqw&t=1s&ab_channel=WebsterTarpleyFanChannel. I highly recommend watching (or listening to) this entire very informative lecture!

As I finish this seriously difficult for an amateur project that took several weeks to complete, I would like to thank everyone who helped me make this happen by offering advice, expertise, suggestions, and much more. In particular, I want to thank our admins Dmitriy, Stanislav, and Sergey for their technical help, and, also, a very special lady who responded to my request for help with sifting through 1.5 hours of material to condense it into 20 minutes - with extensive notes, no less! - and did a simply amazing job. The original video was filmed as a single-camera 1.5-hour-long shot, so everything else you’ll see was inspired by her suggestion to add some imagery.
...And now I am going to sleep for a week :)
