The alternate NBC/MSNBC-inspired election night for 1916 where Republican nominee Charles Evans Hughes defeats incumbent Democratic President Woodrow Wilson.

Hughes only needs California to win the White House which he did in this alternate scenario. Outgoing Pres. Wilson will appoint Hughes as State Secretary. Afterwards, both Pres. Wilson and VP Marshall will resign to avoid a lame duck presidency. Hughes will be sworn in as Acting President of the United States.
