“God’s Enemies”
11th In our series the Prophet Micah

I. God’s Opponents - Micah 2:8
* A. They recently have become antagonists to the Almighty God - 2 Chronicles 28:1-4, 24-25
* 1. That begins with a carnal mind - Romans 8:7
* a. This is essentially a soul of hostility against one’s own Maker
* b. It is not only a mind alienated from Him but a soul in deadly opposition to Him - Rom 1:18-25
* 2. This antagonism is rooted in a rejection of His Lordship over all that He has Created
* a. It is manifested in a vigorous rejection of His Holy Law as the rule of life - 1 John 3:4
* b. It opposes God’s Wishes, Interests, and Honor
* c. It pursues a course hostile to His government
* B. This enmity is unjustified for God is Love - 1 John 4:16
* 1. There is nothing in His character to justify this animosity
* 2. This enmity is the fountain of all misery in this world

II. The Antagonism against God Reveals itself in attacks on fellow Creatures - Micah 2:8-9
* A. Stripping impoverished refugees - Amos 2:7
* 1. The God given rights of others the wicked freely violate
* 2. If a man hate God he will hate his fellow man - 1 John 4:20
* B. The destruction of women and children - James 4:1
* 1. Casting out the war widows from their homes
* 2. The orphaned children are despoiled
* 3. The happiness of the suffering souls is trampled upon by those who have the power in their hands
* 4. How we treat the “least of these” is how we treat the Lord Jesus Christ - Matthew 25:41-46
