Sex Change Surgery for Kids

HB 2079 would make it easier for kids to receive gender affirming care, which can include access to hormones, puberty blockers, and sex change surgery. It would also protect families who come to Hawaii for this care from being prosecuted by their home state. This bill has crossed over to the Senate and will now be heard on the Senate floor and by Senate committees.

It has currently been referred to two joint committees: Health and Human Services (HHS)/Commerce and Consumer Protection (CPN) and Judiciary (JDC)/Ways and Means (WAM. Contact the committee chairs and let them know you don’t want this bill to pass.
