Bodycam footage of Austin PD Officers rescue a young child from choking

On Friday, February 16, 2024, at approximately 4:28 p.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officer Dalton Schroeder and officer Jason Wright responded to a Check Welfare Urgent call at 6865 East US 290 Highway Service Road EB. The officers arrived and located a child that was choking. Relatives told the officers that the boy was choking on candy. Officer Schroeder quickly utilized his personal anti-choking device and applied lifesaving techniques on the child, bringing him back to normal breathing.
