I remember when I first heard the song "Hold The Line" (circa 1978).

I was 15 years old without a drivers license and I was driving my mom's "Gremlin" illegally (sorry guys, but it was the 70s and we did a lot we weren't supposed to do). And yes, American Motors Corporation actually had a car called the Gremlin.

To be candid, we had so much good music back then, and I mean so much, that it was rare that something would catch your attention. It didn't matter if it was the Eagles, Foreigner, Deep Purple, Rainbow (or any iteration thereof), Journey, Boston, the list goes on for days.

Everyone wanted to be original and great to be noticed.

And Toto was no exception.

So I was driving down a street called Katella, in Anaheim, California, when I first heard that song and I was utterly blown away!

You're probably saying to yourself right now how could you possibly remember this? I don't know, but I just do!

So there I was driving my mom's car illegally, listening to the radio, and a song called "Let The Good Times Roll" by The Cars came on, and for me as a rocker, it wasn't that interesting.

When suddenly, out of nowhere, "Hold The Line" comes on, by some fairly new band called Toto.

I kid you not, I was so blown away, I literally had to pull over to listen to it, and you know what song came on next? Van Halen's "Running With The Devil". Please don't ask me how I know this stuff. I just remember it, that's all I can say!

At that same time, you had Eric Clapton releasing "Lay Down Sally" and you had the Bee Gees releasing their incredible hits from Saturday Night Fever (which as a rock guy, I wasn't supposed to like, but I loved to the core).

Queen had just released "We Will Rock You", Gerry Rafferty had just released "Baker Street", Abba had just released "Take A Chance On Me", Foreigner had just released "Hot Blooded", Kansas had just released "Dust In The Wind", Styx had just released "Come Sail Away"...

Guys, I could go on and on and on, but I think you get the point.

So, when "Hold The Line" came out, just like every other band, they were pushing for a slot of timeless greatness.

So Nohely and I thought we would throw our hat in the ring to give it our best. It's such a wonderful piece of music and a wonderful piece of time when music was great.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it for you.
