Lady Lex - The USS Lexington (CV-2) - with fibre optics!

I wanted to build an aircraft carrier, and I wanted to build the Lexington as a personal challenge and as a good display piece.

Overall, building the model of the USS Lexington CV-2 allowed me to engage with history, develop new skills, and make a cool diorama of a legendary ship.

This model is produced by Meng, scale 1/700. The quality is good.
I complimented with a trumpeter wildcats, 3D printed sailors, and sailors photoetch made by Eduard.

For primer I used Vallejo Grey and Vallejo black.
I used Tamiya acrylics for this model, they were:
XF-1 - Black
XF-2 - White
XF-17 - Sea Blue
XF-50 - Field Blue
XF-25 - Light Sea Grey
XF-63 - German Grey

Acrylic in tube

Other things I used are:
Extra Heavy Gel for the ocean
Acrylic 3mm for the base and the display box
Plastic Putty
Decalfix
Files different grades
0.25 mm fibre optics
3mm white LED with resistor

I hope you like it.

Enjoy
