Warren Mayor Lori Stone has fired Police Commissioner William Dwyer

Dwyer says the firing was a shock and surprise and says they had agreed he would retire on April 19. Stone says their "viewpoints on hiring are no longer aligned" and police hiring will return to the city's Human Resources Department. Deputy Police Commissioner Charles Rushton is the acting interim police commissioner.
