Matthew 15 Rightly Divided
Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, “Why do Your disciples transgress 👉[sin against] the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread.” 👉[The scribes and Pharisees are accusing the disciples of sinning against the Talmud the oral tradition of ritual hand washing and now they are unclean.]

He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress [sin against] the commandment of God because of your 👉[oral Talmud] tradition?👉[ The scribes and Pharisees were breaking the commandments of God by following their oral traditions.]

For the Commandment of God says, honor your father and mother, but the scribes and Pharisees say, whoever says to his father or mother whatever profit you would have received from me, I am going to offer it as a gift to God instead of blessing you, then he need not honor his father or mother. In doing this you have made the commandment of God of no effect by your tradition.

Now Y'shua speaks in a parable, When He had called the multitude to Himself, He said to them, 👉“Hear and understand: Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.” 👉[The Talmud considered it a very serious sin to eat with unwashed hands, because the hands are defiled and anything the hand touches is now unclean.]

What Y'shua is saying here is that the bread your unwashed hand touches and puts into your mouth does not defile you, your defilement comes from within you, out of your own heart. Now take off your western glasses and put on your Israelite glasses, if Y'shua is saying you may now eat unclean animals the scribes and Pharisees would have stoned Him right were He stood. This passage is not about meat, but bread, the hand washing ritual occurred before and after eating bread, read the link.

What Y'shua is not saying here is that it is okay to eat unclean animals.

Then Peter answered and said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.”
So Y'shua said, “Are you also still without understanding? Do you not yet understand that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and is eliminated? But those things which proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and they defile a man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man, 👉but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile a man.” [You are not defiled by not following the Talmud, the oral traditions, your defilement comes from within you, out of your own heart, the internal decision from within you to defy God defiles you.]
