Liz Kendall’s benefits attack will terrify the sick and disabled.

Labour Shadow Work & Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall just gave a terrifying speech that Labour will be tougher on benefits than the Tories.
Right, so Labour’s Shadow Work and Pensions Secretary Liz Kendall, a woman that was such a turn off to Labour members in the Labour leadership race of 2015, let alone the rest of the country, getting only 4% of the vote, losing heavily to a certain Jeremy Corbyn, has reminded everyone what a rancid creature she is, by resurrecting the tougher than the Tories on benefits mantra of her predecessor in the role, Rachel Reeves, now of course, the shadow chancellor and toilet block photo opportunist. Kendall has clearly decided the sort of people she wants to appeal to are the people, who after 14 years of Tory misrule and the rise on absolute poverty in the UK still think people sit on their backsides as scroungers, but having deliberately targeted the long term sick in an interview, actually it isn’t even just so-called scroungers she’s chasing, but everyone reliant on state aid to get by.
Right, so get on your bike and get a job says Liz Kendall, invoking the ghost of Norman Tebbit, a man that’d make Ebenezer Scrooge blush, but here we go again, with targeting the poorest, the sickest and the disabled in this country as a political football to kick around. Little more get me angry at politicians than this and the one person tyre fire of bigoted idiocy this time around, spinning this line once more in an appeal to equally bigoted and ignorant people is Liz Kendall, the Labour MP for Leicester West and looking to be the next in a long line of Dr Deaths, set on continuing to inflict more agony on those least able to fight back.
She gave a speech to the Demos think tank the other day on this, here’s a short excerpt:
We know what we get from the Tories Liz, some of us have lived through it. Unpaid carers who cannot work, like myself, because they care for disabled people who cannot work. The long term sick, many of whom have been made that way due to the mishandling if the pandemic, left with Long Covid or other associated complications, people who have managed to get through and survive frankly the Tory assault on them and repetitious never ending cycles of assessment, the hoops they are made to jump through, no security in their lives, the safety net there supposedly to support all of us should we need it, being chopped to bits and denied to too many, with the lethal consequences we’ve seen far too many stories about for far too many years. How dare you stand there and imply the Tories have been too soft. All she’s worried about is the cost to the public purse of the long term sick and disabled, as it’s their fault, they’ll get sick or disabled! She’s literally blaming them for this. How dare you cost this country so much money! You’re costing us more than our defence budget! Well I’m so sorry disabled and sick people being disabled and sick means you can’t buy more g*ns!
