No Joy on Prairie Dogs - T Cam Retrieval After A Wrong Turn Into A Bad Neighborhood

Refs say PDs out during day. Socialize. Yep, they duck into burrows as their last option against intruders (prefer to poke out and watch) and may stay down there for hours afterward. Or not. Kept mouth shut, treaded lightly and moved fast. Zip on camera except, again, my set-up and pick-up to confirm it was working (at least THEN!). No night critters, badgers or ferrets. 1300 hrs to 1630 the next day. Maybe need denser hole areas; action just out of range or, (cut/paste), Who Knows?

Quick shortcut run across field this time. Cam is failing; did not get started in time for a group of cattle to spot me, trot out of the creek area like a war party of Sioux, nearly RUNNING towards me. They did stop on, I believe, realizing I was NOT the hay truck or an associated staff member. Did not appear amused and for a minute there thought they might express that displeasure. Yes, they have plenty of hay left from last feeding but like humans, prefer the fresh greens as served. PS: FURTHER, there is a startling amount of fresh green grass already below the brown cover.
