The Colorblind Artist lived most of his young childhood on an Air Force base in Missouri, where he started drawing around 6. Ron remembers his first drawing was of the Banana Split Gang, and if you don’t know who they are, you ain’t old.

He entered the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in the fall of 1988. It was in his second semester in a painting class, and with the help of his art teacher, that he realize he was colorblind and would probably have problems with a career in art. He had to make a decision to stay in school or go back into the Army. He thought I would just be wasting his money on school and had a small window of time to rejoin the Army without losing any rank.

In the height of the Covid lockdowns, he was inspired to give painting a try while watching some old Bob Ross’s “The Joy Of Painting” videos. This was about the same time Truth social was starting up so he thought he would join and share my hobby with others. Ron also decided to make videos, where he post them on Rumble, and document my journey from a beginning painter to painting a masterpiece. He says he ain’t quite there yet, but he is showing improvement. The Colorblind Artist is a phenomenal artist which we are honored to have in the Artist Corner.
