WATCH: Mayor Jackie Gets Physically Upset At New Money Rule

At the City Council meeting yesterday, Mayor Jackie Sikes was notified of a new potential rule requiring her and other city officials to ask permission from the council before spending city funds.

Jackie WRONGLY tried to claim this was illegal:

"After talking to Municipal League, They said that this basically is not legal. Ok?"

AJ, who is Fairfield Bay's attorney, told Jackie that it is legal. That changes can be made to the rule making it work, but that they could discuss it later if needed:

"The Municipal League kind of gave a synopsis of what could be done... I think it would be relatively easy to incorporate what you suggested, which is make it a purely procedural thing. "

AJ continued, saying that they could discuss the new ordinance details in March if she didn't want to discuss it right then:

"Want to discuss it in the next work session in March?"

Jackie took a big sigh, looked down at the table, and agreed that the issue could be discussed in March.
