Storm Shield Forecast morning update 2/23/18

This morning's storm is slowing drying up and moving out, leaving cool clean air behind. That means another day of fantastic air quality and below average temperatures, as Bakersfield tops out at 53 degrees before a hard valley freeze overnight. The Kern River Valley gets to the mid-40s this afternoon while the south mountains only get to the mid-30s, meaning all that snow will briefly melt and then refreeze as black ice overnight so be careful on the mountain roads.
