Gulf Coast High Student Baker Acted

Deputies have taken a Gulf Coast High School student into protective custody after disturbing statements made Wednesday. According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, others were concerned for the student's well-being after comments were made Wednesday. Deputies visited the student's home but did not find anything dangerous. The student was taken into custody under the Baker Act. They will receive mental health treatment and have been removed from school pending the outcome of the investigation.
