This is the fifth in an 8 part series demonstrating the abject failure of drug decriminalisation in every country that has adopted it worldwide. This episode fact-checks the Uniting Church arguments that claim it’s unfair that users with small drug quantities are treated harshly, there should be no issue if a drug user is not dependent, there should be no expectation for drug users to change, the principle of equity demands that users should be treated the same as normal citizens, almost half of Australians have at one time used drugs, so drug use should be treated as normal and there is strong Australian support for decriminalising all drugs. All assertions can be verified by accessing the Drug Free Australia document as per instructions on the second last slide of the presentation.
