Police are hosting an active shooter or hostile event training Monday night to help schools, businesses and places of worship prepare for when the unthinkable happens. "Our idea is plan for the worst and hope for the best. We just hope we never have to use this training, but we want people to feel confident that it's there in the event something bad happens," said Lt. Bruce Hoffbauer, Police Academy Commander. The course will help participants understand, prepare, respond to and report incidents of perceived, planned and completed acts of violence. They expect about 60 people to take part in the course at the Cincinnati Police Academy at 800 Evans Drive in Lower Price Hill.
