The Sudarshan Setu Bridge, also known as the Okha-Beyt Dwarka Signature Bridge, is set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Dwarka, Gujarat. This infrastructure project is expected to significantly improve connectivity and boost tourism in the region. The visually striking bridge features steel pylons and fan-like cables, making it a landmark in Dwarka. Connecting Okha with Beyt Dwarka island, the bridge will reduce travel time and enhance accessibility for pilgrims and tourists who previously had to rely on boats. It is a cable-stayed bridge with steel pylons arranged in a fan shape and a deck composed of steel reinforcement and concrete for strength and durability. The bridge spans 2,320 meters, making it the longest cable-stayed bridge in India, with a remarkable 500-meter-long middle span. Solar panels with a capacity of 1 MW have been installed above the footpath shade, and the bridge includes two lanes in each direction for vehicular traffic, as well as 2.5-meter-wide footpaths on both sides for pedestrians. The construction of the bridge was approved by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in 2016, with the foundation stone laid by Prime Minister Modi in 2017. The estimated budget for the project is ₹962 crore.
