Neo colonialism Agenda and the African Union

The African Union is a continental body consisting of the 55 member states of the African Continent. Launched in 2002, it is a successor to the Organisation of African Unity.
The west are in full support of the African Union. Why?. Could it be because they need access to Africas vast natural and human resources under just one body?
We take a look into who is funding this body.
Influence is power, African Union has some powerful bodies donating and partnering with them. Could this create a template scenario we see in most African countries where the countries are rich but the people are poor.
Will African Union Be rich and the continent remains poor for the next 50 years?
