Moment Amazon driver survives being hit by train

An Amazon driver lost his hat and the back of his truck after a bizarre accident involving a train. Alexander Evan was driving his delivery truck in a rural part of Wisconsin in 2021 when he came round a sharp bend to his left, crossed a railroad crossing and, before he could get to the other side, was rammed by a speeding train. The train tore off the back of his truck and the impact dislodged his hat, leaving him completely hatless. Miraculously, both the cabin and Evans were left in one piece – the force of the impact was so great it sheared the back of his truck off (relatively) cleanly. Newly released dashcam footage shows the devastating loss of his hat, and the impact from the train.

Evans, who told local media that he is deaf in one ear, said that there was no warning that the train was approaching, no warning lights, no signal, and the front dashcam shows that the crossing has no gate. Only the sound of the train, the sound of the train’s horn, the visible train tracks and the extremely large train itself could have possibly warned him that he was mere moments from becoming hatless. Evans was taken to the hospital suffering from soreness and a cold head, and told the media that he believes more needs to be done to protect people who drive onto the train tracks in front of a train without looking.
