If there were a ceasefire tomorrow, the death would not only continue, but it could very well accelerate through starvation and dehydration and disease. The infrastructure is destroyed. The hospitals are gone. It must be completely rebuilt. Obviously a ceasefire is only the precondition for building a lasting peace.
