Soma Holiday - Shake Your Molecules (Music Video)
A Franco-American duo that emerged from the New York Club scene in the Eighties, Soma Holiday's singer Jane Honicker and keyboardist Jean-Marc Vallod (formerly of seminal French New Wave groups "Marie et les Garçons" and "Electric Callas") came up with this amazing track in 1984. Produced by Eric Dufaure for Manhattan indie label Cachalot Records and mixed by break-dance guru Jay Burnett, it was also released on a 3 song Maxi-Single in France on Les Disques du Soleil et de l'Acier, where it had a good run on the emerging free radio ("radios libres") network. The video, directed by J.P. Garnier, was selected in the "basement tapes" MTV video contest of 1985. The track has been reissued in June 2012 on the Serendip Lab "French Synth Lover" compilation.
