Birthday Dinner DRAMA: Who's SUPPOSED to Pay??

A guy recently posted a video to TikTok about a birthday dinner he attended with his girlfriend, at which all of the guests seemed to be ordering food like they had unlimited funds to spend. His spidy senses told him that things were not going to end well, so he did what he had to do to avoid a messy situation! Was he right or wrong?

Another gal shared her story of a friend who put her on the spot for unexpected expenses for her birthday celebration, leaving the friend in a financial bind.

There seems to be a debate about who is supposed to pay the check when you're invited out to a birthday dinner for a friend or even family member - who pays, and how the check is split.
