Paul Murphy - 'Winter In My Heart' . Slow version, remake , Take 1

I wanted to try out a completely new arrangement of 'Winter', and this is the second day on it. Once upon a time it would have come in 2, maybe 3 takes, but with only 2 working fingers on each hand, those times ain't these times. 5 takes yesterday out of 8 attempts never got where I wanted to be, although a couple came close. I hate leaving doors ajar, so I was compeller to come back to it today - I used to make an entire album in less time almost. This is take 1. The vocal goes to places where the fingers haven't been able to take the voice to, but hey, we all love John Cale and he's been doing that for 60 years, so that's a benchmark I'm happy to take, if not happy with.

When indecision held me back

I gave up ground I should have stood
She stayed with one who wronged her

Autumn on my mind
You pulled me from the precipice
And then left me behind

I still walk where statues stand
And knock on unlocked doors
We sailed a ship to paradise
Yet stand on seperate shores
You still glide barefoot thru' my dreams
Do I appear in yours?

I had winter in my heart
And summer in my grasp
We gaze at empty days now
And mourn for what did not last
