Over half of people on universal credit 'ran out of food in past month'

A charity is calling on the government to increase support after a survey showed more than half of people on universal credit ran out of food last month.

The Trussell Trust is urging the government to introduce an "essentials guarantee", so the basic rate of universal credit is always enough to cover life's essentials.
