Superstition about the Friday the 13th could go either way. If you found a horseshoe, four-leaf clover or a rabbit’s foot on the 13th you considered yourself lucky. While those who crossed the paths of black cats and cats not quite so black, spilled salt, shattered a mirror or opened an umbrella indoors, shuddered with the thoughts of the jinx they expect may descend upon them.
