Drinking Of The Wine -Traditional Spiritual - Guitar - Commentary after song

Drinking Of The Wine is an old Traditional African American Spiritual. Bascom Lamar Lunsford learned it at an African American Church in 1902. It`s on his CD, Ballads, Banjo Tunes and Sacred Songs of Western North Carolina. I sing and play it this time on the guitar in open D tuning. Right hand technique is sort of like the Carter Scratch which is named after Mother Maybelle Carter. It`s an uplifting spiritual song that southes the soul. I hesitated weather to post this or not because the vocals are a little too buried to my ears. The guitar, vocal balance is off. I like the vocals more up front and prominent. I hope I can find a way to record better in this style on the nylon string guitar because it`s so much fun playing this way in open tunings.
