X-Men '97 Will Ruin Whatever Marvel Hasn't Destroyed of Your Childhood

The first trailer for the most important animated project Disney Marvel has taken on released and it has been met with interesting reviews. X-Men '97 is the continuation of the beloved cartoon series from the 1990's that many people (myself included) have fond memories of. The story allegedly picks up right where it concluded all these years ago, with a heaping helping of modern day issues shoehorned in.

The character of Morph, if you recall, has been "updated" for modern audiences. He went from being a male shape shifter to a non-binary Voldemort cosplayer. Rogue underwent a radical redesign that a lot of people have noticed and a few other details that make your stomach turn.

It could be good, there was a lot to like. But the showrunner is an ideological disaster and the MCU hasn't done anything that should illicit good will or the benefit of the doubt. Show us what you have before we support your project. We know what you have done before and are likely to ruin something again.
