Lake Baikal, at 1642 meters,
is the deepest freshwater lake in the world.

In Siberia, 1982, a ladies research team
is diving in the lake.

7 women divers are at about 50 meters in the
frigid lake when they realize they are being
watched.

Humanoid figures, much bigger than humans, are seen.
They are wearing helmets and about 9 feet tall.

They were wearing silvery tight-fitting suits and became
known as the "swimmers of Lake Baikal."

The women decide they are going to capture one of these entities.
As this happened, all of the divers by some unknown force, are propelled
to the surface of the lake.

This causes the death of 3 of the women. The other 4 were injured.
The 4 who survived were either unwilling to speak of their encounter,
or ordered not to.
