1208 Foundation's Oral Testimony to the House Foreign Affairs Committee

On January 31st, 2024, 1208 Executive Director, Thomas Kasza, provided testimony for the Oversight and Accountability Subcommittee for Foreign Affairs.

The focus of the event was the continuing Taliban reprisals against Afghans who partnered with the US, and Tom laid out the extraordinary services rendered by the National Mine Reduction Group (NMRG) on behalf of US Green Berets.

In addition, Tom brought to light the shocking negligence of National Geographic's documentary Retrograde, which exposed dozens of Afghans to Taliban targeting, and lead to the identification, abduction, torture and murder of an NMRG member; a 21 year old father named Omar.
