What is the matrix?

When one has not had enough of this place they cannot be ready to see it. They may instead become dismissive, annoyed, agitated or even hostile to the simple pointing to it.

Anyone separating from the masses that might ask this question would be led to believe that it is the financial system, society, the government or some other hidden hand. It is always presented as something separate from the one questioning. In ancient traditions they called this entire world mia or the illusion. Still this is insufficient as it seems to insinuate that it is something just outside of our experience and that the afterlife is somehow free of it's grasp. As if we are only touched and guided by it in every facet here but not after death.

So what is it?

It's the experience of forgetting why you walked into a room
It is the fly in your coffee.
It's your phone dying just when you are about to take the perfect picture.
It's the feeling of synchronicity when you are finding the "flow" or the "right path" according to its will.
It's the traffic light taking longer to change than usual and the instant you look away, it is there as someone honking at you to go.
It is the inspiration with full intention to do something that is so important and the moment we go to do it we are drained of all energy and ability to focus on it. Again, it is there as the feeling of guilt that tells you to feel shame for not being able to do something that seems so simple.
It's the endless updates and alterations that claim to improve our phones or anything else in our lives but only seem to degrade the very experience of it.
It's the mosquito that keeps biting but we can't seem to find, all while it takes little bits of our life and attention at a time.
It is all of the situations and events that seem to drain us with little return.
It's the reason so many of us feel lost.

If one were to find themselves losing interest in the mundane existence that is offered to the main stream, it will be there, presenting itself as the mystical or spiritual experience.
It is the great deceiver and agitator of all that is real in this world, you.
It knows us better than we know ourselves, both the fictional us that is here and the real us outside of this realm. That is why it seeks to keep us from remembering, like a dream that slips away and is replaced with a new day of endless distractions and the same or new things to do.
It knows exactly what shiny objects to use to tempt us into giving it more energy and then ensures that a real being here gets back fractions of what was put in. Yet we continue to fall for it, helpless to the Stockholm syndrome, due to not having any knowledge of who and what we are outside of here.

It needs friction.
It provides all the evidence for both sides to any difference in perspective. showing either sides why they are correct and must fight for the truth.

The matrix cannot be pointed to as a seperate entity from anything in this entire experience.
It hides behind the all, presenting itself as none, yet it cannot hide from those that truly wish to see it beyond anything else.
To truly see it and exit it takes a level of fortitude higher than anything else that can accomplished in this world because the truth is more terrifying to our programmed characters than anything else imaginable.
With something so intangible, uncomfortable and difficult to comprehend, what would be the point?
Well, why does it hide and deceive so well while tricking us into feeding it our very essence?
It is because that is all that it can do.
It is small and we are large, it has inverted pur perception of ourselves in relation to it.
Seeing it takes courage unlike anything ever needed before and on the other side of that fear must be liberation from this polarized world for any individual being. If it wasn't possible to exit, why would it try so hard to misdirect and remain hidden?

It seems only when one has been drained and suffered enough, will they be able to face the complete oblivion of their characters here and ask the most important question.
