Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan, is known for its high standard of living, safety, and abundant greenery. Established as the capital in the 1960s to replace Karachi, Islamabad is situated in the Pothohar Plateau in the northeastern part of the country, within the Islamabad Capital Territory. The city is strategically positioned at the crossroads of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.

Planned and built by Greek architect Constantinos Apostolou Doxiadis, Islamabad is divided into numbered sectors and zones, making it easy to navigate compared to many other South Asian cities. It's celebrated for its organized layout, modern infrastructure, and extensive green spaces, including the Margalla Hills National Park to the north.

Islamabad is not only the political center of Pakistan but also a cultural, educational, and research hub. The city hosts numerous foreign embassies, government buildings, and national monuments like the Faisal Mosque, which is one of the largest mosques in the world. The Pakistan Monument, situated in the Shakarparian Park, is another significant landmark, symbolizing the four provinces and three territories of Pakistan.
