The suspect who led Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a multi-county pursuit ending in a shootout is sentenced to half a century in prison.

On February 8, 2023, Dallas Francis, 35, was sentenced to 50 years in the Florida Department of Corrections with a 20-year minimum mandatory sentence for attempted second-degree murder of a law enforcement officer with a firearm, two counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, grand theft, and fleeing and eluding.
