Sharp-eyed extortionists, TAKE THAT! I admit it, freely and publicly despite years of trying to live it down (Production contract dispute; Ronnie's cool as hell). I don't show myself too often (federali disputes) but there's enough to settle this long-simmering controversy. Those who know my body type, posture and face have no doubts.
Wikipedia (more or less): A black-and-white music video for the single was directed by David Hogan. During the beginning of the video, a man is shown trespassing in the narrator's house as the blind singer plays his piano. During production, the actor assigned as the stranger never showed up thus, ironically, a complete stranger was recruited for the key role. ...

... The man gave his name as Dash Riprock but no confirming records have yet surfaced. Only info comes from those on set that day or staff of the catering truck in which "Dash" was caught stealing eclairs. However, the director recognized the lean, faintly-Noferatu figure presented the best menacing yet powerfully-erotic "stranger" he had in mind.
Which is all history has to explain the real identity of an unknown that became one of the most iconic and defining characters of classic rock music. His ultimate fate? Some say he slipped back into the alternate dimension from which he appeared. Others say he managed enough facial hair to walk among us today, unnoticed. The majority believe he went into obscurity deliberately, miffed at performing such an iconic role yet getting nothing but ten bucks, the eclair he already bit into and a rather half-hearted promise not to call the cops if he did a good job.
