We're approaching the two-year anniversary of the war in Ukraine, the war in the Middle East continues devastatingly - not to mention the mounting tensions between the West and China.

Against this backdrop, it's not surprising that global defence spending has hit a record high.

But after decades of cuts, is it enough?
