Israeli citizens: Suppression or Repression of the SOUL? Mass Psychosis?

Are Israeli citizens under Mass Psychosis? I ask this most seriously. They could not have ABOLISHED their soul, surely.
"There's an empty hole in our culture, something that was there for millennia, and is there no more. Something that went away... yet a thing to which we had become accustomed, a faithful and demanding companion to our very existence. What word to use? A thing, an entity, a being, something we held as part of ourselves, the most important part, the most intimate part, the true treasure of what we are. She's gone now. Something or someone who was as if attached to us and has been removed, gradually, or just plucked out? This thing: we called it The Soul"
Excerpt from "The Abandonment of the Soul" by French philosopher Robert Redeker.
He explains that it is not quite an 'abolition', rather a repression of its voice and that even though Freud might be quite out of fashion nowadays, nevertheless we do know what happens when sentiments are repressed leading to all manner of pathological results.
