Landslide at gold mine traps workers underground in eastern Türkiye

A devastating landslide has struck the Copler gold mine near the town of Ilic in Türkiye’s Erzincan province.

Nine people are reported to be trapped underground following the incident, however, these reports have not been confirmed. ‘There are people buried underground, the number is not clear. Our search and rescue efforts have started,’ Governor Hamza Aydogdu said.
