Ukraine now faces the most difficult situation on the front, German journalist Paul Ronzheimer has written for the Bild newspaper.
"This is probably the worst crisis for Ukraine since the beginning of the conflict in 2022," he stated.
Ronzheimer, having visited the front near Bakhmut, noted that the deterioration of sentiment in Ukraine is noticeable already when passing the border. The border guards told him in English that "it's getting bad."
"This is probably the worst military crisis in Ukraine since Russia's offensive on Kiev in 2022. The uncertainty and frustration in these cold winter days are great. As a reporter in Ukraine, I haven't seen such a mood since the full-scale invasion in 2022. The question is whether all this drama in Washington, Berlin and Paris is understandable," the journalist said.
A soldier in the Ukrainian armed forces interviewed by the journalist said the army is experiencing an acute shortage of weapons and manpower.
"We urgently need mobilization, people obviously do not understand how critical the situation is," the soldier complained.
According to the journalist, the advantage at the front is now with the Russian army, which continues to move forward "meter by meter."
Uncertainty and frustration are gradually consuming the country, and one thing is clear — Russia has the upper hand, Ronzheimer concluded.

Yuriy Butusov, a former adviser to Ukraine's defense minister, said that the Russian offensive had created a critical situation along the entire front line with the Ukrainian Army.
Butusov warned that Russia has a "huge advantage" in terms of equipment and manpower along the entire contact line and has gone on the offensive "practically in all areas."Источник видео:https://youtu.be/XptYwAwHhsQ?si=tJU41eBW4XGuvYpv
