Trump about NATO and the 2%, my opinion about the whole deal

Trump about NATO and the 2%. Trump is saying stupid stuff about NATO, stupid because there were talks in the past about EU getting it done by themselves. Also its unfair that all those years EU members and Uk supported USA even at their detriment (wars in the middle East) while now Trump comes and says nah we wont defend you, pay up first. Its cheap. But, Trump wont be allow to win the next election and the only reason is this subject he is pro Russia pro Putin and puts military alliances in danger. The thing is if USA will not defend European nations than it means USA wont defend Asian nations in front of China and btw they are not in NATO and not contributing the 2% but still get protection under different alliances than NATO which also USA has. The thing with NATO is that Europe has its ability to defend itself even if USA pulls out. Or USA and Canada to be precise.
Also that 2% is relative it doesnt mean USA will spend less because some European country spends 2% instead of 1% for example. That 2% of GDP is for the NATIONAL army not for NATO. There is another thing, for example all Eastern European countries close to Russia spend more than 2%. Its normal that as farther away from the conflict the other nations to spend less than 2% because there are other countries ahead spending more. Military spending always means less spending for the population. Also Ukraine is not NATO. And lets be real, NATO armies are better equiped than Ukraine and do have profesional soldiers. In the case of a Russian atack on NATO, right now, NATO countries in Europe would do MUCH better than Ukraine. But that atack wont come so what Trump said is pointless. He should have talked with the nations in the Pacific and make deals with them.
