In Paganism, Tuatha De Danaan translates to 'People of the Goddess Danu"
Danu = Mother goddess Diana.
Carried forward from the Tuatha D'Anu (Anu is the parent god)
They were said to be skilled in magic but were banished from heaven due to their knowledge.
They are referenced in mythology, legend, and some historical writings.
In witchcraft and paganism, the goddess Diana was regularly portrayed as the ruler of the fairy kingdom.
In King James VI of Scotland's Daemonologie writing, he says that Diana belongs to "the fourth kind of spirits".
The Tudor Queen Elizabeth I was depicted in literature as the Fairy Queen -descended from the shining ones the Anunas (aka Tuatha De D'Anu which is interchangable with Tuatha De Danaan).
