n this video, I will be showing you my 96 GMC Sierra k3500 6.5l turbo diesel truck cold start. If you don’t know how a Diesel engine works, it can be very frustrating to start the engine cold, specially if the temperature is bellow frizzing. Well let me explain: your diesel truck in the winter months needs to be plugged into a outlet, the reason is to warm your engine block. With the engine block nice and warm, the diesel fuel will ignite much faster. If you don’t have you truck plugged into like I don’t, the truck will have a very hard time to start, and will be just like this video a diesel engine smoke show, even though your glow plug is lit. This smoke show can also happen, if you plugged in your truck and your engine block heater is not working.
