IN FEBRUARY 1945 THE UNGUARDED CITY OF DRESDEN WAS BOMBED DESPITE IT HOUSING MAINLY WOMEN AND CHILDREN

In four air raids on the 13th and 15th February 1945, 722 heavy bombers of the British Royal Air Force (RAF) and 527 of the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) dropped over 3,900 tons of high-explosive bombs on the city.

There also seemed to be another agenda at play here. Maybe this remarkable old world City sticks out a bit too much.
