On Tuesday schools in Roscommon County were sent into secure mode after a phone call was received.

A local business reported they received a call in which a person threatened to carry out a mass casualty incident at local schools.

No specific school or school district was mentioned by the caller, which originated from Maryland.

Harford County Maryland Deputies went to the registered address for that phone number and spoke with a 29-year-old male suspect who admitted to making the call.

Investigators believe this was a swatting call, in which a false report is made with the intent of triggering a response from law enforcement.
