Michigan's safe storage gun law will take effect February 13.

It was among several gun control bills signed by Governor Whitmer last year and requires gun owners with children in the home to have guns locked in a gun safe or with a cable lock. They also have to be locked up if children visit the home. The bills were passed after the Oxford High School shooting and the Michigan State University shooting.
