Reddit Rant - It’s Not A Reversal To Refuse The Crap Sandwich

HuffPost tries to frame the broad-based Republican opposition to the newly unveiled “border bill” as a reversal. They quote a Democrat Senator stating that the GOP asked for a policy, got what they asked for, and now want to kill it.

Gaslighting is probably a touch overused these days, but this is a pretty solid example of the phenomenon. The Democrats refuse to acknowledge that the GOP may have principled opposition to the policy details proposed, instead claiming that the irrational GOP just can’t accept the good things they’re being offered.

Also, when it comes to the issue of linking foreign aid to domestic policy, I agree it’s a bad idea. It does look like Senate Republicans suggested this bad idea, so they need to own a piece of it. Even if we just consider the difficulty of linking foreign aid to multiple countries together we see issues pop up right away.

I don’t see any way that we can both support Israel and the Palestinians at the same time. If you have your eyes open, you can see that “humanitarian aid” sent to Palestinians ends up in the hands of Hamas. Hamas has declared war on Israel, Israel has declared war on Hamas. So either you’re so gullible you think we can send money to the poor “women and children” Palestinians without benefiting Hamas, or you are willing to fund both sides of a war. Go ahead and make the moral case for that, I’ll wait.

Like the video if you agree…comment if you don’t.
