Word 1
Study Of Paul's Epistle To The Romans - The Fundamentals Of Christian Education & Church Principles. || Rom. 16:19-23
• Rom. 16:19 As Paul the apostle closes this Epistle, he shares with the Romans a very powerful, practical principle. That is, he would have them be wise to that which is good and ignorant concerning evil. You see, Rome, being the capital city of the empire, was the place to be for anyone who was moving up in society. It was the power point politically, the hot spot culturally. Rome was where the movie stars hung out and the musicians lived. It was the happening place—which is why Paul was concerned that the believers there remain naive concerning evil, that they be ignorant concerning what was happening around them culturally.

Study Of Paul's Epistle To The Romans - The Fundamentals Of Christian Education & Church Principles. || Rom 16:19-23
• Rom. 16:20 Divisive people destroy the peace and unity of the church, but God, who is the source of peace, will crush this work of Satan through the wisdom and obedience of believers. Ultimately, God will totally defeat Satan and bring peace to the whole church. Paul closes with his customary prayer that the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ would be with them.

Word 3
Study Of Paul's Epistle To The Romans - The Fundamentals Of Christian Education & Church Principles. || Rom. 16:19-23
• Rom 16:21-23 Timothy worked with Paul and later received two letters from him. Some think Lucius here is Luke, the author of the third Gospel and Acts. But Paul includes this Luke among his countrymen, meaning he was a Jew. Luke the author was a Gentile. Jason is mentioned in Acts as Paul’s host on his first journey to Thessalonica (Act_17:5, Act_17:7, Act_17:9). Sosipater is likely the same person referred to in Act_20:4. Paul, the author of Romans, dictated the letter to a secretary named Tertius, who actually wrote the words. Tertius here sends his greetings to the Romans. Gaius of Corinth (1Co_1:14) not only gave Paul lodging, but also offered his house as a meeting place for the church. In Act_19:22 a man named Erastus was sent by Paul to Macedonia. This may have been the same man.

Personal Supplication

23 And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.
