John's baptism

John's Baptist was one of repentance. It happened before the ministry of Jesus. It is similar to but not identical to Christian baptism. Christian baptism is baptism into Christ, which includes the demonstration of repentance and cleansing, and also recognizes the believer's identification with Jesus Christ, with His death, His burial and resurrection.
