SERMON NOTES

IGNITION: “THE RE-RE WORDS”
Ezra 3:11-13 (NKJV)
And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord:
“For He is good,
For His mercy endures forever toward Israel.”
Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.
12But many of the priests and Levites and heads of the fathers’ houses, old men who had seen the first temple, wept with a loud voice when the foundation of this temple was laid before their eyes. Yet many shouted aloud for joy, 13so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people, for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the sound was heard afar off.

I. RE-CONNECT (Jeremiah 29:13-14)
• GOOD MORNING! I am so glad that you are here today!
• Happy New Year!!
• Do you Know “RE-RE?”
• Expound on the “RE” words!
• Why are these words important? What is the significance?
• What is significant about our text today, and what does that have to do with you?
• Modem Example: Connect-Re Connect
• Listen to what God says in (Jeremiah 29:13-14).
• Doesn’t this make you “re”evaluate your relationship?
• God pursues a real relationship with us. But sometimes we are not receptive to what He is doing. So we disembark on our own journey…messing things up!

II. RE-BUILD (ISAIAH 61:1-3)
• As we examine the text that we have today, we see that one of the keys to the “rebuilding,” is the “Reconnecting” of their relationship to God.
• What is the significance of these “Re’s?”
• Listen to (Isaiah 61:1-3)

III. RE-FOCUS (MATT. 6:33-34)
• As we continue to look at the text we see that the people had to do a lot of heavy lifting!!!
• With the alter being placed back, and for the sacrifices being reinstituted, the act of “re-focusing” is established!
• Listen to the wisdom that is shared in (Matthew 6:33-34).
• Coach Mike Tomlin of the Pittsburg Steelers has a saying. “Keep the standard, the standard!”
• We have to remember to keep God first. So many times, we try to re-prioritize things.
• When we do, we find ourselves falling deeper and deeper into trouble. Why? Because we did not keep the main thing the main thing.
• Listen to (Deut. 6:4-5).

IV. RE-STORED (John 14:6)
• As we continue on our journey through the “Re-Re Words,” we come to another critical one.
• What is the value of restoring?
• Jeremiah 29:14. What bearing does this have on restoration?
• Prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32)

V. CHOOSE JESUS TODAY (JOHN 14:6)
