The United States will not interfere in a possible decision by the Ukrainian authorities to dismiss the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Valeriy Zaluzhny, US Assistant to the President for National Security Jake Sullivan said on CBS television.

The AFU command has thrown American reserves - M1A1 Abrams tanks - into the battle near Avdeevka, Ukrainian media report.

At the moment, Russian forces are actively advancing in this direction and have managed to enter the city from the north-east and south.

The United States began transferring M1A1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine in mid-2023. Kiev is said to have received 31 armoured vehicles that have never been used before.

The Russian Ministry of Defence has reported that two HIMARS MLRS missiles have been shot down in the southern Donetsk region.

According to the ministry, the Buk-M1 SAM system is capable of firing at enemy air targets both according to its own target detection system and as part of a division according to radar detection data.
